Brazil’s Michelle Nicolini submits Ukraine’s Iryna Kyselova in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion and mixed martial artist Michelle Nicolini, 36, of Brazil fought her third ONE Championship fight on March 9, 2018. She faced Iryna Kyselova of Ukraine at a catch weight of 60kg at “ONE: Visions of Victory” at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Nicolini aced her third assignment in ONE Championship. She put Kyselova to sleep courtesy of a wrenching rear naked choke in the first round.

The Brazilian MMA fighter wasted no time in taking matters right into her comfort zone on the mat, effortlessly converting on a takedown attempt from the get-go. Once on the canvas, she worked her magic and finished Kyselova by submission.

On November 11, 2016, Nicolini made her ONE Championship debut. She submitted Mona Samir via modified rear-naked choke.

Held on April 21, 2017, “ONE: Kings of Destiny” marked Nicolini’s second ONE Championship outing. She submitted Irina Mazepa via armbar.

Nicolini’s first and second ONE Championship bouts both ended in the first round. Before making her promotional debut, she had her first loss as a professional MMA fighter.

On June 23, 2011, Nicolini made her professional MMA debut at “Inka FC 11: Yes to Sports, No to Drugs,” where she submitted Cristina Mejia via armbar in the first round. On February 22, 2014, Nicolini also submitted Lanchana Green via armbar in the first round at “M4tC 13: Nemesis.”

On October 17, 2014, Nicolini lost to Norma Rueda Center at “LFC: Legacy Fighting Championship 36” via unanimous decision. After defeating Kyselova, Nicolini now has 5 wins and 1 loss.

On the other hand, Kyselova now has 10 wins and 3 losses. In 2013, she was an undefeated fighter with 5 wins then in 2014, she lost to Kamila Porczyk at “KSW 26: Materla vs Silva”.
