Galia Arkin was originally Malkat MaYofi 1955. However, she lost the title, which was given to Lily Perzhensky.
On July 20, 1956, Sara Binshtok represented Israel at Miss Universe 1956 at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California, United States. She finished in the Top 15, making her the first woman from Israel to place in Miss Universe.
