Melissa Ann “Missy” Tremblay of Salem, New Hampshire, United States has died. She was 11.
Tremblay was a sixth grader. She was the adopted daughter of Janet M. Tremblay, 43, who was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, USA to Fred Bogannam and Edith Graham Bogannam.
On September 11, 1988, Missy accompanied Janet and Janet’s boyfriend to the LaSalle Social Club on Andover Street in Lawrence. While the two adults were inside the club, the girl played in the adjacent neighborhoods then disappeared.
Janet and her boyfriend frantically searched for Missy and reported the girl missing to the Lawrence Police Department. A pizza delivery man and an employee at a nearby railyard were the last people to see the girl alive.
On September 12, 1988, Missy was found dead at the Boston & Marine railway yard in Lawrence. She was stabbed to death.
After Missy’s death, a train car ran over her body, which amputated her left leg. Authorities have yet to identify a suspect.
