What happened to Cherry Hill, New Jersey’s Holly Ann Campiglia?

Holly Ann Campiglia of Cherry Hill, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States died at age 21. She was born in Cherry Hill to Augustine A. Campiglia and Sally Avery Campiglia.

Holly Ann is Augustine and Sally’s first-born child. Augustine and Sally have four other daughters namely Daryl Ann Campiglia, Dawn Campiglia, Johnna Campiglia and Karen Campiglia.

While Holly Ann was a senior in high school in 1976, she started taking drugs and having emotional problems. After graduating from high school, she entered Glassboro State College in Glassboro, Gloucester County, New Jersey to study fine arts and ran away from home.

In July 1980, Augustine and Sally received a letter from Holly Ann, telling her parents to not think of her anymore. It was mailed from Sacramento, California, USA but the return address was not a real street.

Augustine and Sally reported Holly Ann missing. However, Holly Ann’s name was accidentally dropped from the computer list of missing persons two weeks before two field workers found her body on August 3, 1980 in a cornfield in Dixon, Solano County, California.

Holly Ann was shot six times in the head. After learning that her name had been dropped, Augustine and Sally listed their daughter as missing again on May 12, 1992.

On June 19, 1992, Holly Ann was identified as a murder victim. Authorities have yet to identify a suspect.
