Miss Thailand Universe 2000 results: Kulthida Yenprasert crowned in Bangkok

Charcthua Karnasuta held the Miss Universe franchise in Thailand, which started in 1984. He was the managing director of BBTV, which operates Channel 7, and the president of the Vajiravudh College Alumni Association, which owns the Miss Thailand beauty pageant.

In 1998, Karnasuta suffered paralysis. His sister Surang Prempree became the BBTV managing director and Thailand’s Miss Universe license holder.

In 2000, the Vajiravudh College Alumni Association handed over the official broadcaster of the Miss Thailand pageant from Channel 7 to iTV and Prempree created a new standalone beauty pageant titled Miss Thailand Universe. Here are the winners of the inaugural Miss Thailand Universe 2000, which was held at the Sofitel Centara Grand Hotel Bangkok in Bangkok, Thailand:

On May 12, 2000, Yenprasert represented Thailand at Miss Universe 2000 and competed against 78 other candidates at the Eleftheria Indoor Hall in Nicosia, Cyprus. She was unplaced.

Currently, Thailand has five Miss Universe placements. These include two crowns won by Apasra Hongsakula in 1965 and Porntip Nakhirunkanok in 1988.
