Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, “Constantine” made its world premiere in Paris, France on February 7, 2005. The supernatural film was released theatrically in the United States on February 18, 2005.
On February 22, 2005, Heben Music released “Luminescence” in France. It is Anggun‘s third international studio album.
“Constantine”
Written by Kevin Brodbin and Frank Cappello, “Constantine” was directed by Francis Lawrence. The film, which marks Lawrence’s director debut, stars Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeaouf, Tilda Swinton, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Djimon Hounsou.
Played by Reeves, the main character is a chain-smoking cynical exorcist named John Constantine. The younger versions of the character are played by Quinn Buniel and Connor Dylan Wryn.
April Grace plays Dr. Archer, the doctor of Reeves’ character. Several Asian actors are in the cast including Alice Lo, C.W. Pyun, Sharon Omi, Roberto Kawata and Suzanne Whan.
Reeves was born in Beirut, Lebanon to Samuel Nowlin Reeves Jr., who is of Chinese, English, Native Hawaiian and Portuguese descent, and Patricia Taylor Reeves and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Patricia is from Essex, England, United Kingdom.
“Luminescence”
Mononymously known as Anggun, Anggun Cipta Sasmi was born in Jakarta, Indonesia to Darto Singo and Dien Herdina. Singo is a Javanese writer and Herdina is from the royal family of Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia.
Anggun is a Muslim but she attended a Catholic school. In 1994, she moved to England to pursue an international career.
On June 23, 1997, Columbia Records and Sony BMG Music Entertainment released Anggun’s first international studio album “Snow on the Sahara”. The same record labels released her second international studio album “Chrysalis” on August 30, 2000.
The international standard version of “Luminescence” has 13 songs. Most of them were originally written in English before being adapted to French.
