Jorge J. Masvidal Jr., 20, of Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States is the first fighter to defeated Joe Lauzon, 21, of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, USA in a professional MMA bout. The two headlined the HOOKnSHOOT event “Absolute Fighting Championships 12”.

Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, USA, Lauzon moved to East Bridgewater when he was in the fourth grade. He attended East Bridgewater High School where he started his martial arts training.
On February 26, 2005, Lauzon submitted Joe Ahlert via guillotine choke. In 2004, the Brockton native defeated seven opponents namely David Gilrein, Jerry Mosquea, Kyle Sprouse, Renat Myzabekov, Justin Blasich, Mike Brown and Ryan Ciotoli.
