Born in Warren, Ohio, United States, Dave Grohl is James Harper Grohl and Virginia Jean Hanlon Grohl‘s son. James is of German and Slovak descent while Virginia is of Irish and English descent.
James was a journalist. In 1976, he and Virginia divorced.
Dave Grohl
In 1981, Dave started learning to play the guitar. In 1982, he attended Naked Raygun’s concert at The Cubby Bear in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
In 1994, Dave founded the Foo Fighters in Seattle, Washington, USA. From 1994 to 1997, he was married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood.
In 1995, Dave founded Roswell Records, which is based in New York City, New York, USA. On July 4, 1995, the Foo Fighters’ debut studio album was released by Roswell Records and Capitol Records, which is based in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA.
On May 20, 1997, Roswell Records and Capitol Records released the band’s second studio album “The Colour and the Shape”. This was followed by “There is Nothing Left to Lose”, which was released on November 2, 1999 by Roswell Records and RCA Records.
On October 22, 2002, Roswell Records and RCA Records released the band’s fourth studio album “One by One”. In 2003, Dave married Jordyn Blum.
“In Your Honor”
RCA Records is owned by Sony BMG Music Entertainment, which is also based in New York City. On June 14, 2005, Roswell Records and RCA Records released the Foo Fighters’ fifth studio album “In Your Honor”.
The Foo Fighters recorded the album from January 2005 to March 2005 at Studio 606 in Los Angeles. The album has 20 songs.
