Grand Hustle Records and Atlantic Records released “King” on March 28, 2006. It is the fourth studio album of Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr., also known as T.I.

Stone Records released “Parade” on March 30, 2006. It is the debut album of Yvette Barbra “Barbie” Hontiveros Almalbis as a solo artist.

Warner Bros. Pictures released the coming-of-age film “ATL” in the United States on March 31, 2006. Written by Tina Gordon Chism and directed by Chris Robinson, the film stars T.I., Lauren London, Antwan Andre Patton, Mykelti Williamson and Keith David.

“King”

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, T.I. turned 25 on September 25, 2005. His first three studio albums “I’m Serious”, “Trap Muzik” and “Urban Legend” were released on October 9, 2001, on August 19, 2003 and on November 30, 2004, respectively.

“King” was supposed to be released as a soundtrack to “ATL”, which marks T.I. film acting debut but he decided to release it as his fourth studio album. It has 18 songs including eight collaboration songs.

“Parade”

Almalbis and Ricci Durango performed as a duo called Hungry Young Poets in 1996 and released their self-titled album in 1998. They later became a trio with Franklin Benitez.

After Durango left the group, Rommel de la Cruz became a new member and the group was renamed Barbie’s Cradle, which is the title of their first album as a new band in 1999. Benitez left and Wendell Garcia joined before the release of their second album “Music from the Buffet Table” in 2000.

In 2003, the band’s third album “Playing in the Fields” was released. After Kakoi Legaspi joined the band in 2005, Almalbis decided to pursue a career as a solo artist.

One of the 12 songs in “Parade” features de la Cruz, Garcia and Legaspi. On August 26, 2006, Almalbis will turn 29.
