Focus Features released “Catch a Fire” in the United States on October 27, 2006. It is a biographical film about activists against apartheid in South Africa.
Sony BMG Australia released “Closer to the Sun” on October 28, 2006. It is Guy Sebastian‘s third studio album.
“Catch a Fire”
Set in South Africa in 1980, “Catch a Fire” tells the story of Nic Vos, an Afrikaner police officer tasked with locating the perpetrators of bomb attack against the world’s largest coal liquefaction plant, and Patrick Chamusso, who is accused of carrying out the terrorist attack. The officer and his subordinates torture the suspect and his wife Precious Chamusso.
Derek Luke and Bonnie Henna play Patrick and Precious, respectively, while Tim Robbins plays Nic Vos. Also in the cast are Mncedisi Shabangu, Tumisho Masha, Marius Weyers and Robyn Slovo.
Sibusiso Mhlongo plays a photographer in the film. It was written by Shawn Slovo and directed by Philip Noyce, who was born in Griffith, New South Wales, Australia.
“Close to the Sun”
Sebastian was born in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia while his older brother Ollie Sebastian was born in India to Ivan Sebastian and Nellie Sebastian. In 1987, they moved to Australia where Ollie and Guy’s younger brothers Chris Sebastian and Jeremy Sebastian were born.
On November 19, 2003, Guy won “Australian Idol” Season 1. His first two studio albums “Just as I Am” and “Beautiful Life” were released on December 8, 2003 and on October 18, 2004, respectively.
Guy’s third studio album has 14 songs. Some of them premiered at a concert at Federation Square in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on September 27, 2006.
