Miss Earth was formally launched on April 3, 2001. It was organized by Carousel Productions, an organization based in the Philippines.
Alexandra Braun
Miss Earth 2005 Alexandra Braun Waldeck, 23, of Venezuela will crown her successor at the National Museum in Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines on November 26, 2006. It is the sixth edition of the international beauty pageant focused on environmental issues.
Braun was crowned at the University of the Philippines Theater on October 23, 2005. Her runner-up was Amell Yoselin Santana de Jesus of the Dominican Republic, who was crowned Miss Air 2005.
