Jorge Masvidal, 22, of Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States has made his Strikeforce debut. Based in San Jose, California, USA, the mixed martial arts promotion was founded by Scott Coker, 44.

Featuring 12 MMA matches, “Strikeforce: Playboy Mansion” was held at the Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA on September 29, 2007. The seventh match was between Masvidal and Matt Lee, 36, of Leominster, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA.

With Cecil Peoples as the referee, Lee and Masvidal competed at a catch weight of 160 pounds. The referee stopped the fight after 1 minute and 33 seconds in the first round when Masvidal defeated Lee via technical knockout via punches.

The victory improved Masvidal’s professional MMA record to 12 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Lee now has 10 wins and 7 losses.

Lee is 6’0″ tall and he competes in the welterweight division. He made his professional MMA debut on June 26, 2000.

Masvidal is 5’11” tall and he competes in the lightweight division. He is a former welterweight.

Born and raised in Miami, Masvidal attended St. Brendan High School in Westchester, Miami-Dade County. While in high school, he competed in wrestling but he failed to stay eligible because of his grades.

On May 24, 2003, Masvidal made his professional MMA debut. On June 24, 2006, he was crowned the new Absolute Fighting Championship Welterweight Champion in Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, Florida.
