Russia’s entry “Believe” is the winner of the 53rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Dima Bilan recorded the song, which he co-wrote with Jim Beanz.

In August 2002, Bilan competed in the first edition of “New Wave“, an international contest for young performers of popular music. He was third runner-up to Russian pop duo Sergey Lazarev and Vlad Topalov collectively known as Smash!!

Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA, Beanz turned 27 on August 26, 2007. He produced “Believe” with Timothy Zachery Mosley, who is professionally known as Timbaland.

Born in Ust-Dzheguta, Karachay–Cherkess Republic, Russia, Bilan turned 26 on December 24, 2007. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, United States, Timbaland turned 36 on March 10, 2008.

“Believe”

On March 9, 2008, Bilan performed “Believe” in the fourth edition of Evrovidenie. The song won and became Russia’s Eurovision Song Contest 2008 entry.

This is the second time Bilan participated in the international song competition organized by the European Broadcasting Union. He performed “Never Let You Go“, which finished second in the competition’s 51st edition.

“Never Let You Go” was composed by Alexandr Lunyov. The lyrics were written by Karen Kavaleryan and Irina Antonyan.
