Miss Earth was formally launched on April 3, 2001. It was organized by Carousel Productions, an organization based in the Philippines.
Miss Earth 2008
Miss Earth 2007 Jessica Nicole Trisko, 24, of Canada will crown her successor at the Clark Expo Amphitheater in Angeles City, Philippines on November 9, 2008. It is the eighth edition of the international beauty pageant focused on environmental issues.
Trisko was crowned at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on November 11, 2007. Her runners-up were Miss Air 2007 Pooja Chitgopekar of India, Miss Water 2007 Silvana Santaella Arellano of Venezuela and Miss Fire 2007 Angela Gomez Duran of Spain.
