Tansey Coetzee was crowned Miss South Africa 2007 at the Sun City Superbowl in Sun City, Moses Kotane, North West, South Africa on December 8, 2007. She competed against 36 other candidates.
On July 14, 2008, Coetzee competed against 79 other Miss Universe 2008 candidates at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam and finished in the Top 15. On December 13, 2008, she competed against 108 other Miss World 2008 candidates at the Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa and finished in the Top 5.
Two days later, Coetze went back to the Sun City Superbowl and crowned Tatum Keshwar as the next Miss South Africa. The new queen will represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2009 and Miss World 2009.
