Produced by Civil Dawn Pictures and Motion Picture Corporation of America, “Taking Chance” aired on HBO on February 21, 2009. It is a historical drama television film written by Michael Strobl and Ross Katz and directed by Katz.
PolyEast Records released “Time for Letting Go” on February 23, 2009. It is the third studio album of Ana Karylle Padilla Tatlonghari, who is mononymously known as Karylle.
“Taking Chance”
On January 16, 2009, “Taking Chance” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, USA. It is about the recollections of U.S. Marine Corps lieutenant colonel Michael Strobl, who accompanied the remains of U.S. Marine Corps private first class Chance Phelps from Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware, USA to Dubois, Wyoming, USA in April 2004.
Strobl is played by Kevin Bacon. Also in the cast are Ann Dowd, Blanche Baker, Enver Gjokaj, Gordon Clapp, Guy Boyd, James Castanien, Joel de la Fuente, Julian Gamble, Liza Colon-Zayas, Mike Colter, Nicholas Reese Art, Noah Fleiss, Tate Ellington and Tom Bloom.
Colon-Zayas and de la Fuente play ticketing agents. The latter was born in New Hartford, New York, USA to Filipino parents.
“Time for Letting Go”
Karylle’s grandfather Carlos Padilla Jr. is a Filipino boxing referee and judge. He refereed the match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier III at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on October 1, 1975.
Universal Records released Karylle’s first two studio albums “Time to Shine” in 2001 and “You Make Me Sing” in 2005. On March 22, 2008, she turned 27.
Karylle’s third studio album has 11 songs. It includes a collaboration song with her mother Zsa Zsa Padilla.
