Stewart Ernest Cink was born in Huntsville, Alabama, United States. He grew up in Florence, Lauderdale County, Alabama.
In 1991, Cink graduated from Bradshaw High School in Florence. In 1995, he graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, also known as Georgia Tech, in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, USA.
In 1995, Cink made his professional golf debut. In 1997, he joined the PGA Tour.
On May 21, 2009, Cink turned 36. On July 19, 2009, he won the 138th edition of The Open Championship, which is also known as the British Open.
Runner-up to Cink was Thomas “Tom” Sturges Watson. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, the latter graduated from Stanford University in Stanford, California, USA with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
From 1972 to 1997, Watson was married to Linda Rubin. In 1999, he married Hillary Watson.
Cink is 6’4″ tall. Tom is 5’9″ tall.
