Chelsea Lynn Gauger of Ames, Story County, Iowa, United States was crowned Miss Iowa USA 2009 in Ottumwa, Wapello County, Iowa on November 23, 2008. Almost a month before winning the title, her mother Elizabeth M. Gauger died of skin cancer.
On April 19, 2009, Chelsea represented Iowa at Miss USA 2009 and competed against 50 other candidates at the Planet Hollywood Theatre for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. She was unplaced.
Almost eight months later, Chelsea crowned Katherine Connors in Ames as the next Miss Iowa USA. The latter will represent Iowa at Miss USA 2010.
