Grace Bahati, 18, is a senior six student at Lycee de Kigali in Kiyovu Cell, Nyarugenge Sector, Nyarugenge District, Kigali, Rwanda. Established by the French government in 1974, the school officially opened on July 31, 1975.

Born in Uganda, Bahati moved to Rwanda with her family in 1994. This was after the genocide against the Tutsi from April 7, 1994 to July 19, 1994.

On March 15, 2009, Bahati turned 18. Nine months later, she won the third edition of Miss Rwanda in Kigali, Rwanda.

In 1992, Jeanne Munyankindi of Kigali became the first ever Miss Rwanda. Representing the Rwandan community of Belgium, Dalila Uwera won the second edition of the national beauty pageant in 1993.
