Mononymously known as Lena, Lena Johanna Therese Meyer-Landrut recorded “Satellite”, which won “Unser Star für Oslo” on March 12, 2010. On May 23, 2010, she turned 19.
“Satellite”
Representing Germany, “Satellite” won the 55th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, Norway. It was written by Julie Frost and John Gordon.
Born in 1967, Gordon is a resident of Fløjstrup, Denmark. He told BBC that “Satellite” was not even written for Eurovision.
Raised in Vermont, United States, Frost started performing publicly in Chicago, Illinois, USA in 1992. She wrote much of “Satellite” while she was staying in Georgia, USA in 2007.
Frost is an employee of the music production entity RedZone Entertainment. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, the company produced Britney Spears and Madonna‘s 2003 song “Me Against the Music” and Rihanna‘s 2007 song “Umbrella”.

Lena
Lena was born in Hanover, Germany. Her grandfather Andreas Meyer-Landrut was West Germany’s ambassador the Soviet Union in Moscow, Russia from 1980 to 1983 and from 1987 to 1989.
From 1989 to 1994, Andreas was the chief of staff to the office of Germany’s president during Richard von Weizsäcker‘s presidency. Born in Tallinn, Estonia, Andreas will turn 81 on May 31, 2010.
An only child, Lena started taking dancing lessons in 1996. She initially did baller and later practiced hip-hop, jazz dance and other modern styles.
