Graeme McDowell
Born in Portrush, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, McDowell is Uel Loughery‘s nephew. When McDowell was young, he was coach at the Rathmore Golf Club in Portrush by Loughery.
As a teenager, McDowell attended Coleraine Academical Institution in Coleraine, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. He studied engineering at Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland before transferring to the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama, United States.
In 2002, McDowell made his professional golf debut. In 2008, he won the Ballantine’s Championship at Pinx Golf Club on Jeju Island, South Korea and the Barclays Scottish Open in Glasgow, Scotland.
