Mister Africa International 2012 contestants

The Mister Africa International 2012 coronation ceremony will be held at the Africa Centre of Covent Garden in London, England on October 7, 2012. It is the inaugural edition of the international beauty pageant for African men.

There are 12 men competing for the title. Here are the candidates:

Africa

At about 30.3 million km2, Africa is the second largest and the second most populous continent in the world. The continent covers 20% of Earth’s land area and 6% of the planet’s total surface area.

Africa is divided into two regions namely North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa and the latter is further divided into four subregions namely Eastern Africa, Middle Africa, Southern Africa and Western Africa. North Africa includes Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia and Western Sahara.

East Africa has 19 states namely Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Somaliland, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Central Africa has eight countries namely Cameroon, Central Africa Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, the Republic of the Congo and São Tomé and Príncipe.

West Africa has 16 countries namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, the Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo and one dependency, which is Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha. Southern Africa includes Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa.
