Representing Denmark, “Only Teardrops” won the 58th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Frederik Thaae produced the song, which was written by Lise Cabble, Julia Fabrin Jakobsen and Thomas Stengaard in 2012 and recorded by Emmelie de Forest.

This is the third Eurovision Song Contest winner from Denmark. The first two were “Dansevise” in 1963 and “Fly on the Wings of Love” in 2000.

“Only Teardrops” was originally written to represent Germany in the international song contest. On January 26, 2013, de Forest performed the song in the 43rd edition of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix and won the competition that selects Denmark’s Eurovision Song Contest entry.
