Singer and fashion designer Jessica Simpson, 33, married her fiancé Eric Johnson, 34, at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California, United States on July 5, 2014. The latter is a former National Football League player.
On July 4, 2014, Simpson and Johnson hosted a pre-wedding barbeque party where their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and Southern buffet with delicious desserts. After pushing back two previously set wedding dates, she finally exchanged vows with him in front of more than 250 guests in a rose garden under a canopy of chevron seating.
“We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment,” the couple said in a statement. “To say ‘I do’ in front of family, friends and, most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives.”
Mindy Weiss was the wedding planner. She told People, “We’re having a real Americana 4th of July party.”
“It’s very down home but it’s not a T-shirt and jeans Americana,” Weiss continued. “Because Eric’s from Boston, it’s more khakis and white shirts. Very Kennedy.”
Simpson and Johnson have been dating since 2010. and they have two kids together. Before their wedding, she told USA Today, “Eric’s family alone is almost 90 people so it’ll definitely be a big event.”
Aside from singing, Simpson is also a spokesperson for Weight Watchers. After giving birth to her son in 2013, she lost 55 lbs.
Wearing a custom-made pale pink Carolina Herrera wedding gown, Simpson flaunted the result of her weight loss during her big day. Present during the wedding were her parents Joe Simpson and Tina Simpson, her sister Ashlee Simpson and Ashlee’s fiancé Evan Ross, Donald Faison, Jessica Alba, Cash Warren and CaCee Cobb.
