Eminem’s flow is so crazy: Otaku Gang’s Solar Slim

Remixing Eminem‘s songs with the soundtrack of “Street Fighter” music video is not an easy task, according to Otaku Gang. The duo, which is made up of cousins Richie Branson and Solar Slim, was recently tasked to do the “Marshall Vs. Capcom” mixtape for “Street Fighter V.”

“His flow is so crazy,” Slim said of Eminem in an interview with HipHopDX. “It’s all over the place and he sings on pretty much everything.”

As a producer, Slim explained that it is not easy to simply make a beat and an artist cannot just make sure that the beat and the groove fit around the song because it is necessary to match the key. He added that the challenge became so much greater when they were only limited to “Street Fighter” samples.

Branson said he and Slim wanted to give “that something that people could be proud of.” The duo would flip the “Marshall Vs. Capcom” mixtape and bring it into a positive way and use it to show people who are into different things.

According to Branson, the mixtape caters to people who are “into music a lot” and those whore are into video games, movies, comics or anime. What Otaku Gang represents, he said, are those who are interested in things that the mainstream may not deem acceptable.

Both the “Marshall Vs. Capcom” mixtape and the “Street Fighter V” video game were released on February 16, 2016. Among the Eminem songs included in the mixtape are “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” “Lose Yourself,” “A-Like That,” “Till I Collapse,” “Superman,” “The Way I Am,” “When the Music Stops,” “Business,” “Soldier” and “Stan” featuring Dido.

Published by Capcom, “Street Fighter V” is available for PlayStation 4 and PC. Capcom brand marketing director Matt Dahlgren told Entertainment Weekly that the game “marks the start of new era for fighting games.”
