2016 Navotas congressman, mayor, vice mayor, councilors elected

Navotas is one of the 16 cities in Metro Manila, also known as the Philippines’ National Capital Region. The city has the third largest fish port in Asia. 

Tobias Reynald Marcelo Tiangco has been the congressman of Navotas since June 30, 2010. He served as the vice mayor of the city from June 1, 1998 to June 30, 1998 and from February 1, 1999 to May 12, 2000.

On May 9, 2016, Navotas elected its new congressman, mayor, vice mayor and councilors. The city has two legislative districts.

On March 19, 2005, Wendy Manalus Valdez represented Navotas at Binibining Pilipinas 2005 and competed against 22 other candidates at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila. She ranked fourth and was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2005.

Born and raised in Navotas, Valdez graduated from Far Eastern University in Sampaloc, Manila, Metro Manila with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication. She competed against 17 other housemates in “Pinoy Big Brother” Season 2, which aired on ABS-CBN from February 25, 2007 to June 30, 2007, and finished third.

On April 14, 2015, Mark Andrew Baron represented Navotas at Mister United Continents Philippines 2015 and competed against 36 other candidates at the Tanghalang Pasigueño in Pasig, Metro Manila. He ranked third and was crowned Mister Real Universe Philippines 2015.
