“Mugen” Mark Striegl, 28, of Baguio City, Philippines was one of the winners at “ONE: Age of Domination“. It marked the American-Filipino mixed martial artist’s second ONE Championship victory.
Featuring 11 MMA matches, “ONE: Age of Dominations” was held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on December 2, 2016. In the ninth bout of the evening, Striegl fought “The Trouble” Sotir Kichukov, 26, of Pomorie, Bulgaria in the bantamweight division.
Yuji Shimada served as the referee of the bantamweight contest. After three 5-minute rounds, he raised the hand of Striegl, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
In the main event of the evening, “The Flash” Bibiano Fernandes, 36, of Brazil defeated “Lightning” Reece McLaren, 25, of Australia via split decision. In the co-main event, “The Truth” Brandon Vera, 39, of the Philippines and the United States defeated “Shrek” Hideki Sekine, 43, of Japan via technical knockout.
The loss downgraded Kichucov’s professional MMA record to 13 wins and 5 losses. It was his second ONE Championship bout.
On the other hand, Striegl now has 15 wins and 2 losses. It was his third ONE Championship bout.
A total of 13 countries were represented at “ONE: Age of Dominations” namely Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Egypt, Finland, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan and the U.S. Kichukov solely represented Bulgaria and Striegl was one of the eight fighters representing the host country.
Born in Tokyo, Japan to an American father and a Filipino mother, Striegl attended the University of San Diego and Point Loma Nazarene University, which are both in San Diego, California, USA. He made his professional MMA debut on July 25, 2009 in San Diego and has been a resident of Baguio City since 2011.
