The Binibining Pilipinas 2017 coronation ceremony will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on on April 30, 2017. It is the 54th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the Philippines’ Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Supranational, Miss Grand International, Miss Intercontinental and The Miss Globe candidates.
Currently, the Philippines has 21 Miss Universe placements including the coronations of Gloria Diaz in 1969, Margarita Moran in 1973 and Pia Wurtzbach in 2015. The country has 31 Miss International placements including the coronations of Gemma Cruz in 1964, Aurora Pijuan in 1970, Melanie Marquez in 1979, Precious Lara Quigaman in 2005, Bea Rose Santiago in 2013 and Kylie Versoza in 2016.
On April 17, 2016, Maxine Medina was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2016 and Versoza was crowned Bb. Pilipinas International 2016 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Also crowned were Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2016 Joanna Louise Eden, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Jennifer Ruth Hammond, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International Nicole Cordoves and Bb. Pilipinas Globe Nichole Manalo.
There are 40 women competing for the six crowns at stake at Bb. Pilipinas 2017. If facial beauty is the only criterion, these will be my Top 10 candidates:
