Known as the master director of Filipino action films, Toto Natividad is back with a new action drama film produced by Viva Films. The main cast of the film titled “Double Barrel” is led by AJ Muhlach, Jeric Raval and Phoebe Walker.
“Double Barrel” is very different from Muhlach’s previous films namely “Diary ng Panget,” “Talk Back and You’re Dead,” “Never Talk Back to a Gangster,” “Para sa Hopeless Romantic,” “Chain Mail” and “Felix Manalo.” The actor, who is also a member of the boy band XLR8, is the half-brother of veteran actor Aga Muhlach.
Unlike AJ, Raval is considered a veteran actor when it comes to action films. Prior to “Double Barrel,” he has worked with several Filipino action stars including Lito Lapid, Monsour del Rosario and Kier Legaspi.
On the other hand, Walker has done only three full-length films before “Double Barrel” but she has already made a name for herself in Philippine cinema. She recently won Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Erik Matti’s “Seklusyon” at Metro Manila Film Festival 2016.
In 2014, Walker played a ballerina in “The Boston” Season 1 episode 3 titled “Dancing Around the Issue.” In 2016, she starred in the short film “Unconventional” opposite Kiko Matos.
Joining AJ, Raval and Walker in the cast of “Double Barrel” are Mon Confiado, Oliver Aquino, Richard Manabat, Joseph Ison, Bani Baldiserri, Leon Miguel and Carlo Lacerna, among others. Willy Laconsay wrote the screenplay of the film based on Natividad’s story.
