Boxing and mixed martial arts fans are polarized when it comes to the upcoming boxing superfight between Irish MMA fighter Conor “The Notorious” McGregor, 29, and African-American boxer Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr., 40. For Filipino-American MMA fighter Mark “Mugen” Striegl, 29, the result will depend on the length of the match.

Striegl is not disregarding the fact that McGregor is younger and bigger than Mayweather Jr. The 11-time five-division boxing champion will win the boxing match unless he gets knocked out early by the reigning UFC lightweight champion, according to Striegl.

“I think Floyd will take it but Conor does have youth on his side and the size advantage,” Striegl said in a statement exclusively obtained by Conan Daily. “If Conor doesn’t finish him in the first few rounds, Floyd will win.”

McGregor has fought 24 MMA bouts, winning 21. On the other hand, Mayweather Jr. won all of his 49 boxing matches.

Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao is one of the celebrity athletes who think Mayweather Jr. will win. Among those who believe McGregor will win is Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg.

Striegl, a fan of Pacquiao and a lookalike of Wahlberg, also has an upcoming MMA fight. He is set to make his Universal Reality Combat Championship comeback after going on hiatus for seven months.

In 2011, Striegl made a successful URCC debut, which was his first professional MMA bout in the Philippines, by defeating Crisanto Pitpitunge at “URCC Baguio 3.” In 2012, Striegl won six fights including those at “URCC 21: Warpath” against Alcer Lozada and at “Legend FC 7” against Ev “E.T.” Ting, 27, who recently failed to dethrone reigning ONE lightweight world champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, 32.

From 2015 to 2016, Striegl fought three ONE Championship bouts. In his upcoming URCC comeback, he will face former URCC bantamweight champion Andrew Benibe in the main event of “URCC 30” at the Araneta Coliseum on Aug. 12.

On Aug. 26, McGregor and Mayweather Jr. will battle it out in the light middleweight division at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. The superfight is billed as “The Money Fight” and “The 180 Million Dollar Dance.”
