Initially, fans of “Descendants of the Sun” alums Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo knew only the date of the Song-Song couple’s wedding. Recently, Song Joong Ki’s agency Blossom Entertainment has confirmed the venue of the upcoming ceremony.
Joong Ki and Hye Kyo will get married on Oct. 31 at Shilla Hotel, Blossom Entertainment said in a statement obtained by Sohu. Other details of the wedding such as the time, the host and the singers are still being discussed with the hotel, according to the agency.
Shilla Hotel is one of the luxurious venues in South Korea. Founded in 1979, the five-star hotel is located in Dongho-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Among the Korean dramas partly filmed in Jung-gu are “Boys Over Flowers,” “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” and “Legend of the Blue Sea.”
In 2016, Joong Ki and Hye Kyo co-starred in “Descendants of the Sun.” No details were heard about their next drama series project since then until they shocked their fans from all over the world on July 5 when they announced their upcoming wedding.
Since then, Joong Ki and Hye Kyo have never appeared together in public until Sept. 3, Sunday, when the “Descendants of the Sun” alums were spotted at Seoul Incheon Airport. A photo of the couple was posted by an Instagram account named songjoongkionly.
On Sept. 4, Monday, Hye Kyo’s agency United Artists Agency confirmed that the couple recently left the country. The two actors have their personal schedules in the United States so they left together, an official from the agency said in a statement obtained by TV Report.
Hye Kyo has yet to star in a film or a TV show since “Descendants of the Sun.” The last time she appeared on the big screen was the 2015 film “The Crossing: Part 2,” in which she starred with Masami Nagasawa, Tong Dawei, Huang Xiaoming, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Zhang Ziyi.
On the other hand, Joong Ki recently starred in “The Battleship Island.” Among his co-stars in the action drama film were So Ji Seob, Lee Jung Hyun, Kim Su An and Hwang Jung Min.
