ONE Championship will pit a champion against another champion on November 10, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen will try to win another title by challenging Eduard “Landslide” Folayang in the lightweight division at “ONE: Legends of the World.”
Currently, Nguyen and Folayang are ONE Championship’s featherweight world champion and lightweight world champion, respectively. Aside from their match, Folayang’s Team Lakay teammate Danny “The King” Kingad will also challenge ONE flyweight world champion Adriano Moraes at “ONE: Legends of the World.”
Folayang and Nguyen were at City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati City, Metro Manila for the traditional skyline photoshoot on Octpber 10, 2017. During the event, I asked Nguyen who he considered as the underdog in the match.

“Heavily me,” Nguyen answered with no hesitation. “I’m the biggest underdog. In every single fight, I’m the underdog. I don’t mind being the underdog, you know.”
When fighting in an opponent’s hometown, a fighter expects to be the underdog as the opponent is the hero in his hometown, Nguyen pointed out. The Vietnamese-Australian MMA fighter said he had no problem being the underdog in the cage.
Nguyen won the ONE featherweight world champion title on August 18, 2017 after defeating Marat Gafurov at “ONE Championship: Quest for Greatness” in Malaysia. On the other hand, Folayang took the ONE lightweight world champion title from Shinya Aoki on November 11, 2016 at “ONE Championship: Defending Honor” in Singapore and successfully defended it from Ev Ting on April 21, 2017 at “ONE Championship: Kings of Destiny” in Manila.
