The wedding of “Descendants of the Sun” alums Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo will take place at 4:00 p.m. on October 31, 2017 at Yeong Bin Gwan, a banquet annex at The Shilla Hotel in Seoul, South Korea. Unfortunately for the media, there will be neither a photo op nor a press conference prior to the ceremony.
This is according to the statement of a source from Joong Ki’s agency Blossom Entertainment obtained by ISPLUS. The wedding ceremony of the South Korean superstars will be held privately, the source said.
There will be no officiant for the wedding and the host will be Joong Ki’s long-time friend and not his former “Descendants of the Sun” co-star Lee Kwang Soo. The congratulatory song will be sung by singer and musical actress Ock Joo Hyun, Blossom Entertainment said in a statement obtained by Korea Times.
Ock is a longtime friend of Hye Kyo. The former started her career as a singer in 1998 as a member of K-pop girl band Fin.K.L. along with Lee Hyori, Lee Jin and Sung Yuri.
On September 3, 2017, Joong Ki and Hye Kyo went to Los Angeles, California, United States for their wedding photos. After their wedding ceremony, they will travel to Europe for their honeymoon.
In January 2017, Joong Ki bought a house in the Itaewon district in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. This is where he and Hye Kyo will live.
Joong Ki and Hye Kyo’s romance started while they were filming “Descendants of the Sun.” The 2016 hit series also starred Jin Goo, Kim Ji Won, Zyon Barreto, Joey Albright, David Lee McInnis and Elena Zhernovaia, among others.
