Miss Malta Michela Galea, 18, is one of the 11 Miss World 2017 candidates confirmed to be in the Top 40. On Nov. 14, Tuesday, she won the talent competition through her singing performance making her the third quarter finalist of the beauty pageant.
Galea is a student of the University of Malta taking up Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies. She is both a singer and an actress and she won Miss World Malta 2017 on June 10.
“I think that the competition in itself was a challenge for me because everything was completely new to me,” Galea told The Insiter referring to Miss World Malta 2017. “I think that being a singer and an actress helped me throughout, in the sense that I felt confident in front of a camera, in front of the judges and the audience.”
Runner-up to Galea in the Miss World 2017 talent competition was Miss Fiji Nanise Rainima, 25. The latter played the piano and sang an original song she wrote for her late paternal grandmother and cancer survivor Ema Ratadai Rainima.
“The talent this year was just amazing and I was a part of that and I’m so grateful and honored,” Rainima told Fiji Times. “My friend and sister Michela Galea Miss Malta was superb and in my heart. I’m happy and proud of her winning talent because she was one of the first contestants I had the privilege of knowing.”
