South Korean stars Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum will host the 2017 Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA). The 19th edition of the awards show organized by entertainment company CJ E&M will be held from November 25, 2017 to December 1,2017 in three countries.
On November 25, 2017, the 2017 MAMA will kick off in Vietnam. The venue and the host have yet to be announced.
On November 29, 2017, the awards show will be held at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan. Park will be the host of the ceremony.
On December 1, 2017, the 2017 MAMA will end at the Asia World Expo in Chek Lap Kok, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. The host of the ceremony will be Song, who recently got married with his former “Descendants of the Sun” co-star Song Hye Kyo.
This will be Park’s third hosting gig in 2017. He reunited with Irene as hosts of the 2017 Music Bank World Tour in Singapore on Aug. 4 and in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 2, 2017.
For Joong Ki, this is his comeback as a host. The last program he hosted was the JTBC reality program “Made in U” in 2012.
A partial list of the 2017 MAMA nominees has been released. Lee Min Ho’s former girlfriend Suzy is one of the nominees for the 2017 Mnet Music Award for Artist of the Year.
Suzy is also one of the five nominees for Best Female Artist. The other four are IU, Heize, Sunmi and Taeyeon.
For Best Male Artist, the nominees are G-Dragon, Psy, Yoon Jong Shin, Zico and Zion.T. The Best Male Group nominees are BTS, EXO, GOT7, Nu’est W, Seventeen and Wanna One while the Best Female Group nominees are Black Pink, GFriend, Mamamoo, Red Velvet and Twice.
