Li Kai Wen of China was disqualified when he landed punches to the back of the head of Ahmed “The Wolverine” Mujtaba of Pakistan at “ONE: Immortal Pursuit.” Because of the illegal strikes, their featherweight bout lasted only one round and Mujtaba was automatically declared the winner.
Because of this, Li’s record was downgraded to 6 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Mujtaba now has 7 wins and 1 loss.
“ONE: Immortal Pursuit” took place on Nov. 24, Friday, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. It was headlined by undefeated ONE Welterweight World Champion Ben “Funky” Askren and Shinya Aoki.
Mujtaba and Askren’s fellow winners were Amir Khan, Leandro Issa, May Ooi, Tiffany Teo, Mei Yamaguchi, Arnaud Lepont, Muhammad Aiman and Miao Li Tao. Like Li and Aoki, Adrian Pang, Dae Hwan Kim, Vy Srey Khouch, Puja Tomar, Gina Iniong, Richard Corminal, Yang Fei and Sim Bunsrun failed to be on the winning side.
