Representing Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ermin Poturak is the winner of the inaugural edition of Mister Ocean, besting 48 other candidates from around the world. The grand coronation night of the international beauty pageant took place in Taiwan on November 24, 2017.
Poturak is a fitness and fashion model. He is under Z Model Management, a modeling agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The hometown of the reigning Mister Ocean 2017 is Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The 1984 Winter Olympics took place in the city.
Runner-up to Poturak was Mister Montenegro Marko Rogac. The Mister Photogenic award was given to Poturak with Rogac as the first runner-up and Mister Nepal Bibek Khadka as the second runner-up.
Mister Ocean 2017 second runner-up was Mister Japan Ryo Arizumi, who also won Best Catwalk. Mister Romania Geany-Daniel Zamfir and Mister Peru Ronald Freddy Mayorga Peixoto were third runner-up and fourth runner-up, respectively.
Peixoto also won Best Tuxedo. The special awards Best National Costume, Mister Friendship, Best Body, Mister Popularity and Best Talent were given to Mister Argentina Javier Palermo, Mister Sweden Kim Philip Bohman, Mister Belarus Seniuts Igor, Mister Taiwan Li Heng and Mister France Victor Simon Andrea Lombardi, respectively.
From 49 candidates, 17 moved to the semi-finals. Originally, there should only be 15 semi-finalists but three semifinalists had the same score so two were added.
Khadka was one of the the semi-finalists. Also in the Top 17 were Mister Italy Giuseppe Alfano, Mister Belarus Seniuts Igor, Mister Colombia Juan Camilo Uruena Castellanos, Mister Thailand Jessadakorn Srilipornkhet, Mister Philippines Vincent Issen Jarina, Mister Nepal Bibek, Mister Taiwan Li Heng, Mister North Cyprus Ahmet Gargi, Mister Argentina Javier Palermo, Mister Honduras Gustavo Paiz Casasola, Mister Pakistan Hassan Bhatti and Mister Mexico Fernando Kolbeckc.
