Naya Rivera, 30, was arrested on Nov. 25, Saturday, in Charleston, South Carolina. The actress known for her role as Santana Lopez on the Fox series “Glee” was accused of assaulting her husband Ryan Dorsey, 34.
Rivera struck her Dorsey in the head on the bottom lip while they were taking their son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, for a walk on 126th Street in Chesapeake, according to the criminal complaint obtained by WCHS. Ryan provided a cellphone vide of the attack to the police.
The “Glee” alum was charged with domestic battery. She was released on bond and it was her father-in-law who picked her up.
Ryan and Rivera got married on July 19, 2014. The latter filed for divorce in November 2016 but called off the separation in October, The Blast reported.
Hailing from the coal mining valley town of Chesapeake, Ryan enrolled at Western Carolina University. After a semester, he dropped out and was eventually accepted at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.
On the small screen, Ryan appeared on several shows including “The Vampire Diaries,” “Pitch” and “Ray Donovan.” He recently starred opposite Richard Cabral and Corina Calderon in “Khalli the Killer,” a crime drama film released in Germany and the Netherlands, and will star in the 2018 thriller film “Heavy Doom” opposite Bobby Naderi.
On the other hand, Rivera’s most recent film was “Mad Families,” which was released on Jan. 12. The comedy film also starred Charlie Sheen, Leah Remini, Danny Mora, Clint Howard, Tiffany Haddish and Charlotte McKinney, among others.
