Two beautiful Asian mixed martial artists will grace the ONE Championship cage in one of the main card matches at “ONE: Warriors of the World” in Bangkok, Thailand. Filipino model Rome “The Rebel” Trinidad, 20, is making her professional MMA debut facing Rika “Tinydoll” Ishige, 28, of Thailand.
By strapping on four-ounce gloves, Trinidad sees it as an honor and privilege to represent the Philippines in ONE Championship. She stated, “My bout against a well-revered Thai martial artist like Rika Ishige is a must-win fight for me.”
“My family is going to watch,” Trinidad added. “Not only that, the whole country will be watching as my bout will be broadcasted live worldwide. Surely, I will give everything in this match to bring home the victory.”
Trinidad does not expect any problem continuing her venture into the constantly-growing landscape of martial arts as she believes that she is fully equipped with the task at hand. Since martial arts is her passion, she feels happy whenever she shares and learns new things about martial arts with others.
“I’m surrounded by people who support me in training,” Trinidad stated. “It makes me stronger.”
The Filipino MMA fighter confidently declared that she is ready for her upcoming fight in Bangkok, the home city of Ishige, who is half-Thai and half-Japanese. Ishige trains at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand.
Ishige is more experienced than Trinidad, the latter is aware of that. But for the Filipino fighter, who looks at things optimistically, one important key to success is self-confidence, a trait she said that has always been with her in this journey.
On March 11, 2017, Ishige made her ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Warrior Kingdom” at the Impact Arena where she defeated Audreylaura “Ice Comet” Boniface Raphael, 27, of Malaysia. On May 26, 2017, Ishige had her second win by defeating Nita Dea of Indonesia at “ONE: Dynasty of Heroes” at the Singapore Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
But on August 5, 2017, Ishige lost at “ONE: Kings and Conquerors” at the Cotai Arena in Macau, China to Jomary Torres of the Philippines. MMA fans will see whether or not Ishige will lose to her second Filipino opponent at “ONE: Warriors of the World” on December 9, 2017 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok.
