Adonis Cantante, 27, of Ecuador was one of the 49 men from around the world who competed for the Mister Ocean 2017 title in November 2017 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. At the end of the inaugural male beauty pageant, he bagged two special awards.

“Of course, it was a unique experience to come from far away from the other side of the world to this competition where I only take the best memories,” Cantante said in a statement exclusively obtained by CONAN Daily. He said that among his fellow Mister Ocean 2017 candidates, his closest friend was Mister Argentina Javier Palermo.

The Argentinian candidate won Best National Costume and made it to the semi-finals but did not advance to the finals. On the other hand, Cantante did not make it to the semifinals but he was Mister Friendship first runner-up and Mister Popularity second runner-up.

Cantante, a professional singer, studied at the Universidad de Guayaquil, the oldest university in the city of Guayaquil in Guayas Province, Ecuador. Armed with good looks, charming personality and talent, he has the potential not only to conquer the international beauty pageant industry but also to follow the footsteps of Ecuadorian actors in Hollywood, including Diego Serrano, Gerardo Mejia and Carlo Aban.

Serrano, Mejia and Aban were all born in Ecuador but their respective families moved to the United States when they were young. Serrano appeared in several TV series including “CSI: Miami,” “Ray Donovan,” “Agents S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Insecure” and “Valor.”

As a rapper and singer, Mejia has released six albums and as an actor, he recently starred in “Dead 7” with Nick Carter and Howie Dorough of Backstreet Boys and Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC. On the other hand, Aban is currently filming “Mile 2” with Mark Wahlberg and Ronda Rousey.
