Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito, 33, of Matsudo, Chiba, Japan will defend his title as ONE Championship‘s strawweight world champion at “ONE: Warriors of the World” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on December 9, 2017. His challenger is Alex “Little Rock” Silva, 35, of Sao Paulo, Brazil. 

Silva currently has 6 wins and 1 loss. The only fighter he lost to is Geje Eustaquio of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines.

Naito will be Silva’s second Japanese opponent. In the Brazilian fighter’s most recent fight, he defeated Hayato Suzuki at “ONE: Legends of the World” in Pasay City, Metro Manila via armbar submission on the first round, which was the first professional MMA loss of the latter.

If Naito loses his ONE Strawweight Championsh belt to Silva, it will also be the first professional MMA loss. In Naito’s most recent fight, he defeated Team Lakay fighter Joshua Pacio at “ONE: State of Warriors” via rear-naked choke submission.

Currently, Naito holds a record of 12 wins and 0 loss. Before Pacio, the Japanese fighter defeated Tsubasa Fujikawa, Shota Kondo, Takafumi Ato, Atsushi Takeuchi, Takeshi Sato, Tadaaki Yamamoto, Yuki Shojo, Shinya Murofushi, Ryuto Sawada, Junji Ito and Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke.

Pacio and Naito are the only two fighters Amnuaysirichoke failed to defeat. At “ONE: Warriors of the World,” Amnuaysirichoke will face his Japanese opponent Riku Shibuya in a strawweight bout. 

The match between Naito and Silva is the main event of  “ONE: Warriors of the World” and aside from Naito and Shibuya, there is one more Japanese fighter in the fight card. Koketsu Boku will fight Christian Lee, the brother of ONE Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee.
