ONE Championship fighter Christian Lee, 19, of Singapore will fight Koketsu Boku, 40, of Japan at “ONE: Warriors of the World” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on December 9, 2017. They will battle it out in the featherweight division.
Boku currently has 26 wins, 11 losses and 2 draws. He won in his two most recent fights, which were against Timofey Nastyukhin, 28, of Russia and Eric Kelly, 35, of the Philippines.
Among the fighters Boku lost to were former ONE Lightweight World Champions Shinya Aoiki of Japan and Eduard Folayang of the Philippines. On May 6, 2016, Boku lost to former ONE Featherweight World Champion Jadambaa Narantungalag of Mongolia, which is the most recent loss of the Japanese fighter.
The fights Boku had that ended in a draw were both under the Japanese organization Shooto. It was with Kenichiro Togashi in 2007 and with Yusuke Endo in 2009.
On the other hand, Christian holds a record of 7 wins and 1 loss. The only fighter he lost to is the reigning ONE Featherweight World Champion and ONE Lightweight World Champion Martin Nguyen of Australia.
Nguyen snatched the featherweight champion belt from Marat Gafurov in Malaysia on Aug. 18 and the lightweight champion title from Folayang in the Philippines on November 10, 2017. With two titles, Nguyen is expected to face ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano Fernandes in 2018.
The match between Nguyen and Christian took place on August 13, 2016 at “ONE: Heroes of the World” at the Cotai Arena in Cotai, Macau. The Singaporean fighter lost to his Vietnamese-Australian opponent via technical submission via guillotine choke on the first round.
Aside from Nguyen, Christian defeated all of his opponents from 2015 to 2017. David Meak, Mahmoud Deab Mohamed, Anthony Engelen, Cary Bullos, the late Rocky Batolbatol, Jianping Wan and Keanu Subba all have one loss each to the reigning ONE Atomweight World Champion’s younger brother.
