The next ONE Championship fight of Shannon “One Shin” Wiratchai, 29, of Thailand will be at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. On December 9, 2017, the Thai mixed martial artist will face Rasul Yakhyaev, 26, of Grozny, Chechnya, Russia, in a lightweight bout at “ONE: Warriors of the World.”

Yakhyaev currently hold a record of 10 wins and 6 losses. He has been in a losing streak and “ONE: Warriors of the World” marks his ONE Championship return.

On  December 5, 2015, Yakhyaev made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Kingdom of Khmer” at the Koh Pich Theatre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He submitted Lowen Tynanes via rear-naked choke.

After defeating Tynanes, Yakhyaev returned to the Russian promotion Absolute Championship Berkut. On March 9, 2016, the Russian MMA fighter defeated Alexander Panasyuk at “ACB 31: Magomedsharipov vs Arapkhanov” via unanimous decision.

However, Yakhyaev failed to win in his three most recent ACB fights. He lost to Adrian Zielinski, Herdeson Batista and Aurel Pirtea on February 18, 2017, on May 13, 2017 and on September 9, 2017, respectively.

On the other hand, Wiratchai won his six most recent fights. When he made his ONE Championship debut on August 31, 2012 facing Mitch Chilson, it was declared No Contest due to illegal soccer kick on the second round.

On October 18, 2013, Wiratchai and Chilson had their rematch at “ONE FC 11: Total Domination” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Chilson was knocked out by Wiratchai via soccer kicks and punches.

Before defeating Chilson, Wiratchai lost to Bashir Ahmad at “ONE FC 8: Kings and Champion” via unanimous decision. It is Wiratchai’s first and only loss.

The successful rematch with Chilson started Wiratchai’s winning streak. The Thai MMA fighter added five more wins in his record by defeating Amir Khan, Kyal Linn Aung, Peter Davis, Richard Corminal and most recently Rajinder Singh Meena.
