Vietnamese-American actress Kelly Marie Tran, 28, is the first woman of color to ever play a leading role in the “Star Wars” film franchise. But apparently, some racist netizen or netizens is or are either too jealous of this accomplishment or triggered by a hurt ego.

Tran plays mechanic Rose Tico in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” which hit theaters on Dec. 15. Days after the movie was released, the character’s page on the online encyclopedia run by “Star Wars” fans called Wookieepedia was edited to racist comments.

Tico’s named was changed to Ching Chong Wing Tong and her home world Hays Minor was changed to Ching Chong China. Worse, a fake quote was attributed to the character, which read, “Heil Hitler and I don’t know why I was casted in a good movie like ‘Star Wars.’”

The admins of Wookieepedia were quick to remove the vandalism and close the page of Tran’s “Star Wars” character for editing.  The netizen who did the racist edits has also been blocked from using Wookieepedia and any other wikis of its parent site, Fandom.

In a statement, Fandom told Newsweek that it has “a zero tolerance policy for vandalism, inclusive of racism and harassment.” The parent site to more than 385,000 wikis added that the wiki admins take the issue very seriously and “took the steps to resolve this situation as quickly as possible.”

As part of the solution, Fandom resorted to a lockdown. The company explained that the lockdown will remain for the foreseeable future and activity on the wiki about Tran’s “Star Wars” character will be closely monitored.

Born in San Diego, California, Tran went to Westview High School and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with bachelor’s degree in Communications. Her parents fled Vietnam after the Vietnam War.

Before “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” Tran starred in the 2016 drama film “XOXO.” On the small screen, she appeared on “Pub Quiz,” “History of the World… For Now,” “Fall Into Me” and “Sing It!” in 2016.

Tran’s fellow lead stars in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” are Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Benicio Del Toro Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Laura Dern, Daisy Ridley and the late Carrie Fisher. Watch the trailer here:
