More than 160 artists will perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2018, which will take place April 13-22, 2018 at Empire Polo Club, Indio, California. One of them is openly gay singer-songwriter Mike Hadreas, 36, who is professionally known as Perfume Genius.
The upcoming music festival will be headlined by Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Marshall Bruce Mathers III, whose respective stage names are The Weekend, Beyonce and Eminem. On January 2, 2018, Perfume Genius took to Twitter to tell his plans about the event.
“For everyone asking…Yes I plan on fighting Eminem at Coachella,” Perfume Genius tweeted. “I want to joust.”
Eminem has yet to respond to the tweet. Either he has yet to see it or Perfume Genius is not big enough for the Detroit rapper to pay attention to.
Perfume Genius is of Greek descent. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa but his family moved to Seattle, Washington when she was 6.
On May 5, 2017, Perfume Genius released his fourth studio album titled “No Shape” through Matador Records. The album, which is his most recent one, has 13 tracks including the collaboration song “Sides” featuring Weyes Blood.
On the other hand, Eminem released his most recent studio album on December 15, 2017. His ninth studio album titled “Revival” has 19 tracks including the collaboration song “Walk on Water” featuring Beyonce. Watch the music video here:
