Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Bruno “Pucci Bull” Pucci, 27, and skilled grappler Emilio “The Honey Badger” Urrutia, 31, are two of the fighters who are travelling to Manila for “ONE: Global Superheroes,” the second ONE Championship event in 2018. The two are set to battle it out in the featherweight division.
Pucci is a No-Gi world champion from Brazil who is based out of Singapore. Training at Evolve, he is one of ONE Championship’s most skilled featherweights.
With an inherent ability to source high-level submission maneuvers from any position in the cage, Pucci is looking for his second straight victory. He is famous for finishing all his bouts via rear naked choke.
The “ONE: Global Superheroes” opponent of Pucci is the former SFC Bantamweight Champion. Since his professional debut in 2013, Urrutia has produced a solid 10-4 record and 4 out of his 10 total victories have come by submission.
Hailing from Miami, Florida, Urrutia is training out of the renowned Tiger Muay Thai gym in Thailand. In his last bout, he scored a unanimous decision victory over the highly-regarded Edward “The Ferocious” Kelly, 33, from the famed Team Lakay fighter of Baguio City, Philippines.
“ONE: Global Superheroes” will take place on January 26, 2018 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It will be headlined by Kelly’s fellow Team Lakay fighter Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio, 28, and Kairat “The Kazakh” Akhtemov, 30, of Kazakhstan.
