4 Team Lakay fighters in ‘ONE: Global Superheroes’ fight card

There will be six Filipino fighters in the fight card of “ONE: Global Superheroes,” which will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines on January 26, 2018. Four of them are from the famed Team Lakay of Baguio City.

Osenio won some and lost some in 2017. Three months after receiving her Criminal Justice Education degree from the University of the Cordilleras, she failed to stop the successful ONE Championship debut of Jing Nan “The Panda” Xiong, 30, at “ONE: Warriors of the World” in Thailand.

Currently, Osenio holds a professional MMA record of 2 wins and 3 losses. She will face Jomary Torres, 22, in the atomweight division in the preliminary card of “ONE: Global Superheroes.”

Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, the reigning ONE Championship Featherweight and Lightweight World Champion, defeated Kelly in 2015. In 2016, the Filipino fighter redeemed himself by defeating Jordan Lucas, Vincent Latoel and Sunoto Peringkat.

After losing to Emilio Urrutia in 2017, Kelly is looking forward to redeeming himself as he faces Meas Meu of Cambodia in the featherweight in the preliminary card of  “ONE: Global Superheroes.” Also in the fight card is the Team Lakay fighter’s older brother Eric “The Natural” Kelly, 35, who will compete in the featherweight division against Rafael “Indio” Nunes, 30, of Brazil.

With 10 wins and 2 losses, Pacio is currently one of the top strawweight contenders of ONE Championship. The only fighters who stopped him from keeping an immaculate record are Japanese martial arts veterans Yoshitaka Naito, 33, and Hayato Suzuki, 31.

Originally, Pacio is set to co-headline “ONE: Global Superheroes” with Pongsiri “The Smiling Assassin” Mitsatit, 21, of Thailand in the strawweight division. However, the undefeated Thai fighter had to pull out due to injury so he was replaced by Lan Ming Qiang, 24, of China.

In 2015, Eustaquio lost to Anatpong “Mak Mak” Bunrad, 31, of Thailand at “ONE: Valor of Champions” via split decision but in their rematch in 2017 at “ONE: Dynasty of Heroes,” the Team Lakay fighter won also via split decision. At “ONE: Global Superheroes,” Eustaquio will be in another rematch.

In 2017, Eustaquio lost to Kairat “The Kazakh” Akhtemov, 30, at “ONE: Total Victory” via split decision. their rematch, which is an Interim ONE Flyweight World Champion bout, will be the main event of “ONE: Global Superheroes.”
