Jing Nan “The Panda” Xiong, 30, of China and Tiffany “No Chill” Teo, 28, of Singapore will headline at “ONE Kings of Courage” on January 20, 2018 at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. The winner will be the first ever ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion.
“More than anything, I just want to make my parents proud,” Xiong stated during a press conference on January 18, 2018 at the Fairmont Hotel in Jakarta. “Every time I win a match, they are really happy. I want to also make the Chinese people proud and prove that we have the ability to be the best in anything we do.”
“I love challenges, and I want to be known as the best in my craft so I am constantly challenging myself,” the Chinese ONE world title challenger added. “I want my career to be about giving hope to the Chinese people. I would like to thank ONE Championship for the opportunity. I will do my best in the cage.”
Hailing from Shandong, Xiong is known as one of the top three leading female martial arts talents in China. With a professional record of 13-1, she began her career competing in professional boxing and was inspired by her father, who imparted in her values of courage and integrity.
Featuring a wide array of skills, Xiong recently bagged a gold medal at the prestigious China Open Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament in 2017. In her last bout, she made quick work of Filipino wushu specialist April Osenio, finishing her opponent via technical knockout in the first round.
