In 2014, Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio, 28, of Team Lakay in Baguio City, Philippines lost to Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes, 29, of Brazil. More than three years later, Moraes became the ONE Flyweight World Champion while Eustaquio became a ONE Interim Flyweight World Championship Contender.

In 2017, Eustaquio lost Kairat “The Kazakh” Akhtemov, 30, of Kazakhstan. They will have a rematch in the main event of “ONE: Global Superheroes,” which is a ONE Interim Flyweight World Championship bout.

“I am expecting another difficult bout,” Eustaquio stated. “Kairat Akhmetov is tough and has a huge heart inside the cage. That is why I am preparing very well for this rematch.”

“A victory over Kairat would land me a rematch against Adriano Moraes,” the Team Lakay fighter added. “I believe I have what it takes to become the undisputed ONE Flyweight World Champion in the future.”

A highly-decorated wushu practitioner, Eustaquio is one of the most skilled martial artists in Asia. His solid striking and grappling skill set has led to huge victories over the course of a seven-year professional career.

Training in the high altitudes of the Philippines’ Summer capital, Eustaquio hones his craft alongside world-class teammates at the fabled Team Lakay. He is known for his incredible ability to keep calm in the face of adversity.

Currently, Eustaquio has 9 wins and 6 losses while Akhtemov has 21 wins and 1 loss. The Kazakh fighter has his immaculate broken in 2017 when he lost via unanimous decision during his rematch against Moraes at “ONE: Kings of Conquerors.”

If Akhtemov loses to Eustaquio at “ONE: Global Superheroes,” it will be the second time for the Kazakh fighter to lose a rematch. In 2015, Akhtemov defeated Moraes via split decision at “ONE: Dynasty of Champions.”

The first bout between Eustaquio and Akhtemov took place at “ONE: Total Victory.” It ended with the judges’ split decision in favor of Akhtemov.
