Training at Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines, Crisanto Pitpitunge has signed with Bahrain-based Brave Combat Federation for the upcoming fight card in Jordan. He is a police officer and the former PXC Bantamweight World Champion.
Pitpitunge was the first mixed martial artist from Philippines to be offered a contract with Brave Combat Federation during the launch of the promotion but he could not fight due to an injury. His fellow Team Lakay fighter Stephan Loman, the promotion’s current bantamweight champion, took the spot and defeated Franz Mlambo, who was training alongside Conor McGregor.
On March 2, 2018 in the King Hussein Sports City in Amman, Jordan, Pitpitunge will face Jalal Al Daaja from Jordan. The Filipino cop and MMA fighter will look forward to tallying the scores with his Jordanian opponent, who is training at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand.
While Al Daaja will have the hometown advantage, Pitpitunge will enter the cage to uphold the fighting pride of the Philippines and Team Lakay, a martial arts group founded by Mark Sangiao. The bout will take place at the 10th edition of the promotion titled “Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises.”
Al Daaja comes off a first round victory over Jeremy Pacatiw at “Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions.” Having competed in Brave Combat Federation’s second, fifth, eighth and ninth edition, Pacatiw is one of the most recurring athletes of the promotion and like Pitpitunge, he is from Team Lakay, which is ranked the best gym by ONE Championship, has represented Philippines at Brave Combat Federation in dominant fashion.
Also at “Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions,” Loman captured the Bantamweight Championship at Brave Combat Federation after leaving Gurdarshan Mangat knocked out in the very first round. Have a glimpse of the bout here:
